A macro of a flower containging a ruby-tailed wasp, Chrysis ignita. The front half of its body (head and thorax) is a shiny green to blue colour, which sometimes has a golden sheen. By contrast, the rear half of the body, the abdomen, is a deep ruby-red colour.
