The Mississippi River along with the many tributaries and lakes in New Orleans already flooded during the Orleans and other parts of the Gulf of Mexico prepare for the Tropical Storm Barry to make landfall, bringing with it a catastrophic rainfall. With the Mississippi River's water level at an all-time high and a storm forming in the Gulf of Mexico that is expected to make landfall on the Louisiana and Texas coasts, many fear that levees will fail and that New Orleans will again be inundated as bad as it was in the 2004 aftermath of Hurricane Kartina.
