Martin Alonso Pinzon, - Spanish mariner who captained the Pinta, one of the three ships Columbus took to the Americas. His younger brother Vicente captained the Nina. La Rabida Monastery, Palos de la Frontera, Huelva Province, Andalusia, southern Spain. The monastery was founded in 1261. It is remembered now as the place Christopher Columbus visited when planning his epic voyage. After a painting dated 1930 by A. Perez Giraldez, copied from an earlier work.
