George Henry Chirgwin (born simply George Chirgwin,1854 – 1922) was a British music hall comedian, singer and instrumentalist who performed a black faced minstrel act but with a white diamond over one eye.' playing piano, violin, cello, banjo, bagpipes, and one-string "Jap fiddle"-- Born in Seven Dials area, London,of Cornish descent. He was one of a circus clown's four children and appeared with his family,the Chirgwin Family troupe in 1861. They imitated other touring minstrel shows
