Chorizema means dancing water. Thebotanists, tired and warm, had been lookingfor water but only found salt springs. At last,much exhausted, they came upon a fine springand their joy was evidenced by dancing, asit were. This plant being found near by, theygave it this name, made up from Cheirosdancing, and zema spring of water.
