Isoetes tuckermanii has been reported growing in sand, gravel, mud, or even peat. Isoetes tuckermanii should be added to the growing list of rare coastal plain disjuncts which occur in the Georgian Bay area (Keddy 1981). Other coastal plain species such as Panic Grass (I)i( anthelium sprelum). Rigid Panic Grass {Panicum rigidulum), Waterwort (Elatine min- ima). Virginia Meadow-beauty ( Rhexia virginica), and Yellow-eyed Gi ass f A i ris diffbrmis), occurred at Wahwashkesh Lake, which ranked third of 49 lakes assessed for possible protection of coastal plain species (C.
