Young Samburu men making fire by rubbing two fire sticks together Samburu National Reserve Kenya East Africa This is a team effort with the men taking it in turns to spin the upright stick pressing it into the hole in the horizontal twig They are concentrating on the task Around the horizontal twig is some donkey droppings or dung which helps the fire to start They have bare torsos and are in traditional dress with a red cotton wrap around their waists and lower body They have bracelets and bead decorations They are slim vigorous healthy and fit
