Exhibition cottage, Cross Street, Letchworth Garden City.
In 1905 Letchworth Garden City was the venue of the Cheap Cottages Exhibition, the aim of which to design and build a cottage for under £150. 131 residences were built, the vast majority of which are still standing. The image shows a single-storey cottage in Cross Street. The exhibition was a phenomenal success, so much so that the exercise was repeated in 1907.
