Owner of a Hotpoint tumble dryer manufactured by Whirlpool looks on as he waits for a replacement or repair of the potentially lethal machine. About 100 types of tumble dryer made between April 2004 and September 2015 are believed to pose a fire risk. This amounts to an estimated machines in total. The fault could lead to excess fluff getting caught in the heating element leading to fires.
