Craft market in Aachen around the historic cathedral and town hall. Every year, hundreds of artisans from all over Europe set up their tents and boths for two days in front of the historical backdrop of Aachen's old town. At over 300 stalls craftsmen present their creations. From pottery to jewelery, clothing and carpets to iron sculptures for home and garden there is something for every visitor to discover. Blacksmiths, sculptors, basket makers, hatters, glassblowers or brush makers are represented as well as ceramicists, game inventors or hair designers. Visitors can find old crafting techniques as well as new design trends in wood, ceramics, textiles, stone or metal. Since 1976, the Aachen Chamber of Crafts organizes the market on the first weekend in September. The market takes place around the cathedral and city hall in Aachen.
