Diplodus vulgaris, the common two-banded sea bream, also called blacktail bream is a common predatory fish in the Mediterranean Sea. This species is usually found in shallow temperate waters looking for prey (crustaceans, worms and mollusks) in the bottom sediments. They usually appear in schools in depths ranging from 0 to 160 m. Sexual maturity is reached in an age of 2 years.
