These three images (Planet Euphoria, Dusk on planet Euphoria and The Dark Side of Planet Euphoria) form a triplet, and illustrate the concept of euphoria in three unique ways. "Planet Euphoria" is meant to symbolize the pure, bright affect, experienced as excitement, elation and ecstasy. "Dusk on Planet Euphoria" is meant to illustrate the intense emotional experience of transcendent happiness and contentment. In the end, "The Dark Side of Planet Euphoria" refers to several concepts contrasting with euphoric experiences, for example depression, dejection, lethargy, uncertainty, fear. These may be connected to and become the drawback of euphoria itself, especially in some mood and mental disorders, like cyclothymia or bipolar (manic-depressive) disorder, as the "high" and the "deep" phases alternate. Another example is compulsive drug abuse, when, after use of a psychoactive substance, the user goes through withdrawal symptoms which become deeper and longer in case of frequent, heavy and / or prolonged use.
