Matthews Arena (formerly Boston Arena) at Northeastern University. The facility is home to the Northeastern University men's and women's hockey teams as well as its men's basketball team and is the venue for the university's graduation ceremonies. The arena opened in 1910 and was the original home to the Boston Bruins one of the original six teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) and the NBA's Boston It is the oldest multi-purpose sports facility still in use in the world as is owned by Northeastern University since 1979. The university, established in 1898, has a total enrollment of about 28,000 students.
