NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Feb. 3, 2017) -- Members of Pre-Commissioning Unit Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) Chiefs Mess remove Chief Boatswain's Mate Charla Thomason's chief shoulder devices during her commissioning ceremony at Naval Station Norfolk. Thomason has served for more than 16 years and will soon be reporting to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).
