The 'Matrimony Tree' which stands on the bridge over River Finn between the towns of Stranorlar and Ballybofey in County Donegal.

The 'Matrimony Tree' is based on ancient Donegal tradition. When a couple were engaged to be married, two trees were planted side by side. When the lovers married, the two trees were grafted together and left to grow. It is said, that lovers passing through the archway between the trees holding hands will love each other forever.
