The fish market stalls, selling many shark and swordfish products, in Kesennuma, Miyage-ken, Japan, on Friday 14th January 2011. Kesennuma has long been an important fishing port in Japan, with an approximate 2000 crew still working the 130 or so fishing boats, largely involved in long line fishing for tuna and shark. The hearts of the sharks are used for sashimi delicacy in restaurants, and the shark fins used for 'shark fin soup' both within Japan but also in further afield Asian countries such as China.
