Leicestershire Rural Roads. 9th October, 2014. New figures from the Department for Transport show that on average three people die every day on Britain's country roads which means motorists are 11 times more likely to die in a car accident on a rural road than a motorway. Rural roads present different driving hazards compared to the hazards found on A roads. You may encounter farm vehicles, farm animals, slippery roads due to fallen leaves at this time of year plus much more. Credit: Jim Harrison/Alamy Live News
