Northern Lights, Grundarfjordur, Iceland

During a wonderful evening around Kirkjufell mountain in Grundarfjordur, Iceland, this Aurora Borealis show started very faint, but during a period of 2 hours increased in activity dramatically resulting in very vivid green colors with a splash of magenta that appeared as a kind of blackish shadow to the naked eye but was revealed by the camera. The curtains danced and folded and sometime seemed to explode from above towards me. I was laughing loudly of pure joy! After about three hours the activity subsided and the colors fainted away. Fantastic show!
