Coquerel's sifaka (Propithecus coquereli) lemur sitting on a tree stump. Coquerel's sifaka is a primate in one of the lemur families, Indriidae, and is native to the forests of Madagascar. Although they can hop bipedally when on the ground, they are predominantly arboreal (tree-dwelling), and can leap up to 10 metres between trees. Coquerel's sifaka are prosimians, the most primitive extant primates. Photographed in the Montagne des Francais Reserve, northern Madagascar.
