British First World War soldiers discovered in the Dig Hill 80 archaeological dig and reburied at Wytschaete Cemetery in October 2019


The remains were found in a crowdfunded excavation of a former German strongpoint at a ridge top known as 'Hill 80' near the village of Wijtschate in Belgium. In total, the remains of more than 100 men were found, most of them German soldiers. 13 British and Commonwealth soldiers were reburied at Wytschaete military cemetery near Ypres in October 2019.
