Native man beats drum in pan of water in Mayo village of Capomos outside El Fuerte in the state of Sinaloa Mexico. Though this looks like a baked turkey this is actually a large gourd set inside a pan of water. The water magnifies the sound so that the drum sounds like an instrument 10 times its size. These are not Maya Indians but rather take their name from the nearby Mayo River
