Lots of people including school children outside the new Library of Birmingham which was officially opened on 3rd September 2013 by Malala Yousafzai, the teenager shot in the head in Pakistan by the Taliban for championing women's Library cost £189m and houses around one million books. It has more than 200 public access computers, theatres, an exhibition gallery and music rooms over 9 floors. Outside it has a brown roof garden made from the rubble of construction with a wild flower meadow. The building also contains the Shakespeare Memorial Room
