Diane McTurk. Visionary behind Wildlife Karanambus Trust, and eco-lodge for visitors. Born 1932. A fifth generation Guyanese, she is a world expert on the Giant River Otters (Pteronura brasiliensis), but also Giant Anteaters, tapir and Capybara amongst others. A pioneer in conservation and in wildlife care in South America. McTurks of Karanambu opened their estate ranch and wetlands for visitors to Rupununi from 1929.
