A view of Rottingdean windmill, East Sussex, with the offshore Rampion wind farm in the distance, just before sunset. Old and new forms of wind power.

The windmill at Rottingdean is also known as Beacon Mill (it stands on Beacon Hill) and was built in 1802. It is no longer working. And in case you wonder why the sea is blue when the sky is yellow, it is not Photoshop! The Rampion wind farm is about 13 kilometers off the coast and the photo was taken with a telephoto lens to make it look nearer and bigger. There was plenty of blue sky over the sea but it is not in the photo because of the cropping effect of the lens. Taken about half an hour before sunset.
