Watson of Bridgeport, 111., and Rogers and Dibble ofOil City, Pa. It is estimated that the independents are handling be-tween 9,000 and 12,000 barrels of oil per day. Prices of Illinois Oil, The price of Illinois oil increased steadily from the opening of thefield in 1905 to July of 1906. From 1907 to November, 1909, thedecline was gradual. The price then remained steady for 18 monthsand since May, 1911, has begun to increase. From 1905 to 1907 in-clusive all oil sold at one price, varying from 60 to 83 cents per grading and division in price took place in 1908. The better gradesof oil were found to lie between 30 and 35° B, while that of the Dun-canville pool lies between 22 and 23° B. The Duncanville oil is soldonly for fuel. The development of the Tracey and McClosky sands inLawrence county gave still higher grades of oil, varying from 35 to39° B.
