Cape Town, South Africa - The traditional Tweede Nuwe Jaar (2nd new year) Cape minstrels parade also know as the Kaapse Klopse or historically as the "Coon Carnival" is a unique Cape Town holiday celebrated by the Cape Malay, or "colored" community that dates back to the time of slavery and was influenced by 19th century visiting American blackface minstrel troupes.
