Astronaut Eugene Cernan
Astronaut Eugene Cernan photographed in orbit during the Gemini 9A Mission. Gemini 9A was launched on June 3rd, 1966, carrying Cenan and Thomas Stafford. The spacecraft made 45 orbits of the Earth, during which time a rendezvous was made with an Augmented Target Docking Adapter was attempted. Cenan also made a 2-hour spacewalk. Gemini 9 re-entered on June 6th, 1966, after a flight of 72 hours. This photo was taken by Stafford.
