An Ottoman silver jewellery box, 1876 - 1909. Convex, segmented, chased body, two side-mounted handles with floral decoration, and an interior iron lock. The hinged lid is worked en suite with a vine-decorated rim and surmounted with a casting of flowers and birds. The tughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid II is stamped on the side. Height 22 cm. weight 1009 grams.
