Coffee bug Antestia species feeding on immature green coffee berries, Lyamungu, Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania


Coffee bug (Antestia species) is a serious pest in many parts of Africa and belongs to the shield bug family. It has a striking pattern or markings of white, orange and black. The adults and nymphs feed mostly on immature, green berries, from which they suck the sap, causing the fruits to shrink.
