A cuirassier's interim broadsword - a presentation issue Circa 1910. Straight thrusting blade with Damascus pattern and double fullers on both sides, partially etched and gilt, the obverse etched with a motto, the reverse inscribed "Damaststahl Eisenhauer" and dedication "Grau s / l. Karl" (From Grau to his dear Karl), the back etched with the manufacturer's name "Weyersberg & Co. Solingen". Knuckle-bow hilt in elaborate relief with a Bavarian coat of arms and the monogram "KL" of the recipient at the pommel cap, horn grip and wire binding.
