Clay figurine of Ernesto Che Guevara

Ernesto 'Che' Guevara was born on 14 June 1928 in Rosario, Argentina. He became involved in the 26th of July Movement with Fidel Castro and was part of the invasion of Cuba aboard the 'Granma' in November 1956. He rose in importance among the guerrillas becoming second-in-command and, following the success of the Cuban Revolution, held a number of key posts in the new government. A committed revolutionary, he left Cuba in 1965 to incite revolution in Congo-Kinshasa and then in Bolivia, where he was captured and executed by Bolivian forces with the help of the American Central Intelligence Agency in October 1967.
