Right-wing sound trucks belonging to Japan's Uyoku Dantai parked outside the controversial Yasukuni Shrine during Spring


Sound trucks in Japan (gaisensha, (街宣車) are used by political parties and candidates to express their views. Amongst others, they are frequently used by Japanese nationalist right-wing groups, known as Uyoku Dantai, to broadcast their rightish political views. There are estimated to be over 1000 right wing groups in Japan with about 100,00 members. Many of these groups are believed to have affiliation with the Yakuza.
