The tomb of Sir Roger Smith Knight at Edmondthorpe church, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England Alabaster effigies of Sir Roger and his two wives, Jane nee Heron () and Anne nee Goodman () below him. His son Edward ( aged 34) and grandson Roger ( aged 19) are shown either side. The effigy of Lady Ann Smith, has a red stain on the wrist. She was considered to be a witch who could turn herself into a cat.
