The Monument to the Great Fire of London, 1670-1675, designed by Robert Hooke and Christopher Wren. The 202- foot tall fluted Doric column stands close to Pudding Lane, where the Fire started. Plaque showing King Charle II and James Duke of York coming to the aid of the burnt City of London. Detail of masons working on scaffolding, in top right hand corner. Carved by Caius Gabriel Cibber.
