Surreal landscape with huge, round and smooth rocks close to Volax (or "Volakas") village, Tinos island, Cyclades, Greece

Volax is a small, picturesque village in Tinos island. It lies in the middle of a surreal landscape, full of round, smooth granite rocks, with a size that varies from that of a football to that of a multi store building This photo is taken from the edge of the village, where a territory of 25 square kilometres covered by these strange rocks starts. Many legends are related to this unique place. They say that if you stay there at night, you feel some kind of strange energy, strange vibrations and that you hear strange sounds. They also say that when an airplane flies above, its indicators, instruments, altimeters, etc. go crazy! The scientists have not come to a certain conclusion yet about these rocks. Two are the basic theories: Many believe that they are the oddments of meteorites. Others believe that some million years ago this place was at the bottom of the sea, that's why these rocks have this shape and texture.
