Founder of the village of Barlaston and also a bard, Beornwulf (Tim Cockin) appears outside the Duke of York pub traditionally on New Year's Eve. The Wassail tradition in Barlaston was started in 2004. This new tradition recognises Staffordshire's Anglo-Saxon history. On the car bonnet is St Modwenna, founder of Burton Abbey.
