Old kilometre roadstone markers being ripped up and loaded into a lorry and removed. These signs are disappearing French icons.

The yellow and white kilometre marker stones have been a familiar sight to travellers across France for many years However progress has decreed that they are replaced with flat metal panel markers (see images and BJT9RA ) This image was taken by a chance happening on seeing a JCB ripping out the old stones and loading them into the back of a lorry to be taken away for probable destruction. The stones in this image look as if they are abandoned tombstones.
