Peace Cross At Cathedral of Washington, 1912. Celtic cross at Mount St Alban, the highest point in Washington, DC. The limestone cross, designed by architect Robert W. Gibson, was erected to celebrate the end of the Spanish-American War and the founding of the National Cathedral.
