Three wood stork chicks in a kneeling stance in their nest awaiting yet another meal despite evidence of the last on their beaks

Three wood stork chicks in a kneeling stance in their nest awaiting yet another meal despite evidence of the last on their beaks and heads. Wood stork families consume a reputed 448 pounds of fish in a breeding season. Often when photographing young wood stork chicks you will see evidence of this in their head feathers and bits all over their beaks. And there may be flies buzzing with all the fish around. Cute as they are it gets quite messy. But, already even at 5 weeks old, this birds have a strong bearing and presence about them. When their parent comes with food they will raise and lower their heads in unison to get attention and food from Mom or Dad.
