Crocodile (Crocodylus sp.) with a blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) that it has killed. Crocodiles are ambush hunters, they wait for an animal to come close and then rush at it. Blue wildebeest crossing rivers are popular prey. The crocodile's large teeth are used to grip their prey, not for chewing. Crocodiles will hunt both on land and in water, taking large prey such as lions. Photographed in the Mara river, Masai Mara Game reserve, Kenya, Africa.
