His Majesty King George VI (1895-1952) receives the Sceptre with the Cross and the Sceptre with the Dove, at his coronation, 1937. George VI's coronation took place on 12th May 1937 at Westminster Abbey, the date previously intended for his brother Edward VIII's coronation.
