"Piping Live", Glasgow's 14th International Piping Festival, thought to be the biggest and most prestigious Piiping competition in the world, began with a march through the city centre by representatives of many of the bands involved to collect funds for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity. "Piping Live" is scheduled to attract over 40,000 spectators to watch more than 150 events over 7 days, and the first band to perform in George Square was the Scots School of Albury from Australia.
