An adult female Cuvier's beaked whale skeleton at El Cotillo, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain


This natural skeleton elongs to a Cuvier's or common beaked whale ( Ziphius cavirostris) which carcass stranded among others on the coast of Fuerteventura coinciding with naval maneuvers that were being carried out at that time, their death was associated with these exercises (Majestic Eagle 2004). in particular, this specimen showed up at Majanicho (La Oliva) in July of 2004, it is meters long and belongs to an adult female.
