A German safe, 19th century, incorporating an older locking mechanism Body of sheet iron, originally intended for wall mounting. Hinged door with central lock and double sliding escutcheon of iron and brass, respectively. Inside, an early baroque, sparsely chiselled locking mechanism with nine latches. Incorporated into a softwood body segmented by balusters at front and with lockable frame and panel door. Blackened iron parts, softwood body knocked and with minor repairs and insect damages.
