A newly emerged elephant hawk moth, Deilephila elpenor. The moth has emerged from a chrysalis that had been kept over winter. It emerged towards the end of March, normally the beginning of May would be the time when elephant hawk moths are flying. It can be seen here resting on a piece of blue driftwood before being released. North Dorset England UK GB
