Match Stick Bromelia flower with purple and pink contrasts against a dark green background

Tropical Match Stick Bromelia, Aechmea gamosepala, perennial, evergreen, endemic to Southern North America. Flowers autumn to winter. Spectacular bunches of pink and purple match stick flowers in a spear formation. The purple head of the match stick flower decays faster than the pink stems and drop off earlier.
