Braña the Pornacal is the largest and best preserved of the brañas of Somiedo, where ancient traditions survive appellate vaqueiros in a setting of incomparable beauty. It is noteworthy that in this braña the collar has been replaced by a stone shed, the casetu; in others there are small houses porches, the sombray, where shepherd and cattle were sheltered from bad weather.
