Liver-biliary bladder-infant

Liver and gallbladder in infants, pediatrics. The infant's liver occupies proportionally more space than in adults. The inferior border of the right lobe can be palpated approximately to cm below the costal border. It is located very close to the iliac crest. The left lobe can extend to the left side wall of the abdomen. The newborn's liver is immature. It is at 2 years that the gallbladder functions like that of an adult.
