Farnham Common, UK. 28th November, 2022. Oudemansiella mucida, Porcelain fungus. The white fungus is semi translucent, slimey and looks like egg whites. Is is sometimes referred to a Beech Tuft or Poached Egg Fungus. It is a common and widespread basidiomycete fungus of the family Physalacriaceae and can often be seen high up on beech trees. It is edible once the mucus is washed off and on a breezy day they can fall to the ground like little parachutes.
