A pronghorn buck (Antilocapra americana) moves through a field in front of parked heavy equipment near a town in Colorado. Concept human encroachment

Pronghorn are the fastest land mammal in the Western Hemisphere, able to read speeds up to 55 mph for a half mile. They are often found near towns and cities in the American West, as they seem to move out only reluctantly as human activities encroach on their range.
